Job Title: Elite Saber Coach

Job Description: Scarsdale Fencing Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Elite Saber Coach to join our team. As an Elite Saber Coach you will be responsible for providing engaging private lessons and group classes to elite fencers in a safe and supportive environment.
Responsibilities: Demonstrate a commitment to the values and mission of Scarsdale Fencing Center.
Plan, deliver, and instruct fencing lessons of varying skill levels, abilities and ages.
Teach fundamental fencing techniques, footwork, sabre work, and strategies to promote skill development and proficiency.
Travel to tournaments to provide on-site coaching support to our fencers.
Ensure the safety of fencers by enforcing proper fencing equipment usage and supervising practice sessions and matches.
Create a positive and inclusive atmosphere that fosters teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect among fencers.
Assess fencer progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement and mastery of fencing skills.
Collaborate with Head Coaches and staff to integrate fencing activities into the overall program, camps and special events.
Qualifications: Previous experience as a fencing instructor or coach, with expertise in saber.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate campers.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize safety and implement appropriate risk management protocols.
Enthusiasm for working with children and adolescents in a club setting.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a fencing community, demonstrating flexibility and a positive attitude.
