Job Title: Assistant Sabre Coach

OFA, with a rich history of producing 67 World & Olympic Championship Medals, including 35 golds. Collaborate with Head Coach Adam Skarbonkiewicz and a dynamic team dedicated to excellence. Our facility at Oregon Episcopal School SPARC offers state-of-the-art amenities, including 10 strips with wireless scoring machines, lockers, and showers.

Responsibilities: Passionate about teaching the Olympic sport of fencing and encouraging kids and parents on their competitive journey. Ideal candidates will have competitive fencing experience, both domestic and international, and the ability to manage a student load of 120+ per week. Must thrive in a cooperative team environment. We seek a coach who is committed to continual growth, development, and innovation, both in coaching techniques and revenue generation, while embracing modern trends in the sport of fencing.

Work with youth development programs from Beginner to Y10 to seniors, track performance and encourage competition participation.
Deliver consistent private lessons and reinforce instruction in group settings.
Evaluate tournament performance and adjust instruction accordingly.
Implement best practices for physical conditioning and training.
Collaborate with the team to apply successful coaching methodologies.

Qualifications: Minimum eight years of sabre competitive experience at the national level.
Assistant college or university coaching experience preferred, along with USA Fencing certification as Moniteur or Prévôt.
Passion for working with youth and junior fencers.
Strong communication skills and adaptability to evolving rules and techniques.
Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
