Job Description:
Five Points Fencing, located in the south suburbs of Boston, is looking for a full-time coach to help develop our growing club. We are looking for an experienced epee coach who is comfortable working with young fencers who are both looking to compete or those who are being introduced to fencing for the first time. This coach would be working afternoons and evenings with our fencers, running classes for novices and young fencers, developing and running training sessions for competitive fencers, and giving lessons to all level of fencers. The coach would also be expected to support fencers at tournaments, including travel to local, regional, and national events.

Responsibilities:
Working with an NCAA coach, the responsibilities include teaching classes for young fencers, managing class schedules, educating students, and growing student's competitive skills. The coach would be expected to teach in a group environment with children as young as 6 as well as older fencers including teens and adults. Some armoring (troubleshooting equipment, rewiring blades, etc.) would be expected as well as light maintenance of the fencing room where needed. Some travel and strip coaching will be necessary as well.

Qualifications (Education, years experience, etc):
Experience in epee coaching and education required. USFCA or similar certification would be helpful. Coaches would be expected to be certified by USA Fencing, including SafeSport certification. A positive, affirming attitude and approach to education is necessary, we are not looking for a drill sergeant.

Five Points Fencing is a cultivating an underdeveloped fencing area with growth potential. We are looking for a coach who is looking to grow a club and programming in a proactive and creative way. The candidate should be motivated and looking to build the club from the bottom up. Five Points Fencing do not have a nucleus of older, higher performing individuals yet, but now the opportunity is here to develop more competitive fencers.
