USA Fencing is launching two exciting think tanks to bring together creative, growth-focused individuals and tech-savvy innovators to expand the sport’s reach and explore the game-changing potential of artificial intelligence.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Imagine the thrill of trying out a bold new fencing move in competition and watching it land perfectly. That’s the spark behind USA Fencing’s two new think tanks: the Growth and Innovation Think Tank and the AI and Fencing Think Tank.
These working groups will be a hub for creative minds with a passion for fencing. Learn more about each working group and how to apply for one (or both!) below.
Growth and Innovation Think Tank
The Growth and Innovation Think Tank will serve as a hub for creative minds eager to expand fencing’s reach. It’s designed for individuals who are one or more of the following:
- Passionate about growing the sport of fencing
- Brimming with bold, big-picture ideas
- Eager to roll up their sleeves and turn concepts into reality
- Have a professional background in growth, growth strategy, media, marketing, participation growth or a highly related area
Through regular brainstorming sessions, the group will generate and execute actionable projects to elevate fencing’s visibility and impact.
AI and Fencing Think Tank
Artificial intelligence is reshaping industries worldwide, and fencing is no exception. The AI and Fencing Think Tank will explore how AI can revolutionize all aspects of our sport, including (but not limited to):
- USA Fencing Efficiencies: How can USA Fencing utilize AI to become an even more efficient NGB to serve the sport.
- Member Service: How can USA Fencing utilize AI to improve the member experience, or event experience.
- Tournament Operations: Thinking about how we can improve the tournament experience for all participants.
- Training and Education: Utilizing AI tools to better educate all fencing stakeholders
This think tank is perfect for individuals who are one or more of the following:
- Fascinated by AI’s potential in sports, or preferably passionate and experienced
- Have a professional background in technology, AI applications or similar fields.
- Ready to collaborate on innovative, cutting-edge solutions
- Able to think well beyond the box!
Members will tackle projects that integrate AI into fencing, making the sport smarter, faster, and more accessible for all.
Other Ways to Offer Feedback or an Idea
The USA Fencing Suggestion Box (usafencing.org/suggestion-box) remains open for everyone to share one-off ideas. But these think tanks will dive deeper — brainstorming and building initiatives to expand fencing’s reach and impact.
