The Super Junior & Cadet Circuit tournament marks USA Fencing’s first visit to Reno since 2015.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — USA Fencing will return to the “Biggest Little City in the World” this season with the announcement that the May 2025 Super Junior & Cadet Circuit tournament will be held in Reno, Nev.
May 2025 SJCC
- Dates: May 16–18, 2025
- Location: Reno, Nev.
- Registration opens: Feb. 26, 2025
- Book your hotel
This will mark USA Fencing’s first visit to Reno since 2015, when more than 1,000 athletes competed in the 2015 USA Fencing National Championships and March North American Cup at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.
In a sign of fencing’s growth over the past decade, as many as 2,000 entries will be expected at the May 2025 SJCC, which will be open to all age-eligible Juniors and Cadets. Speaking of, please note that because this event is held after the 2025 Junior Olympics, we will use the eligibility charts in Table B on our website and in the Athlete Handbook.
That means Juniors must be born between 2006 and 2012, and Cadets must be born between 2009 and 2012. Fencers younger than the birth year span must be on the Y14 National Rolling Points Standings to fence Cadet or the Cadet National Rolling Point Standings as of the final entry deadline to be eligible to fence Junior. There are no rating requirements.
At SJCC tournaments, national points are awarded to the top 40% of the competitors at a 0.4 weight value of the National Point Tables. But for fencers planning to compete at both the December 2024 and May 2025 SJCCs, please know that only the single best result is counted in the revised National Point Standings.
2024-25 Season Now Fully Announced
With the announcement of the location for the May 2025 SJCC, we’ve now announced locations for all nine USA Fencing national tournaments in the 2024-25 season.
The season features five events in the Eastern time zone, two events (including Summer Nationals) in the Central time zone and two events (including our Division I National Championships) in the Pacific time zone.
