by Bryan Wendell
USA Fencing has announced dates and locations for the start of the 2025–26 North American Cup season.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — USA Fencing, eager to give our members a head start on planning their competitive calendars, has revealed the dates and cities for the first three North American Cups of the 2025-26 season.
While some of these dates and locations had already been revealed on our Instagram and Facebook pages, we’re sharing them here to give everyone ample notice. And they are:
- October 2025 North American Cup: Oct. 3–6, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah
- November 2025 North American Cup: Nov. 14–17, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas
- January 2026 North American Cup: Jan. 9–12, 2026, in Kansas City, Mo.
Event combos and day schedules (meaning a schedule of which events are held on which day) will be announced closer to the tournament date — but well before registration opens. You can always check the USA Fencing National Events page for the latest.
How We Announce Tournament Locations #
Before the 2023-24 season, USA Fencing waited until around Summer Nationals to announce dates and locations for the following season.
But after hearing from members that they wanted to know this information as early as possible, we altered that plan and have been sharing tournament dates as soon as they’re finalized.
So what does it take for these dates to be “finalized”? Our Events team negotiates with city leaders, convention centers and hotels to ensure that there’s space available for our event — meaning both competition space and hotel room capacity. We also want to make sure that the average room price these hotels charge will be affordable for families.
One other thing worth mentioning: We’re often able to negotiate a better deal in a particular city by signing a multi-year contract.
For the January NAC, for example, we signed a two-year deal to host that event in Kansas City in 2025 and 2026. These multiyear deals allow us to save money — funds that, as a nonprofit with a Board-directed Strategic Plan, we’re able to invest back into the sport.
