COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — USA Fencing is thrilled to introduce Jess Saxon as our new Director of Member Safety & Organizational Compliance — a key position aimed at ensuring a safe and supportive environment for everyone in the fencing community.

Saxon has spent more than a decade practicing law, most recently as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of New Jersey. Her background includes criminal prosecution, corruption cases, administrative law and employment counseling.

In addition to her legal expertise, Saxon is a dedicated athlete who knows the demands of high-level sports competition. Saxon competed for Team USA and was crowned the 2020 USA Weightlifting National Champion in the 55kg class. Originally from Tennessee, she now makes her home in New Jersey with her husband, Fritz, daughter, Fury, and their dog, Naevia.

“I am so excited to join the team at USA Fencing and combine my love of sport with my knowledge of the law,” Saxon says. “My goals are to prioritize the safety and well-being of all participants. I want to contribute positively to the sport by promoting safety, respect and integrity.”

Phil Andrews, USA Fencing CEO, says Saxon’s commitment to athlete well-being is evident in both her professional track record and her time as a high-performance athlete.

“Jess’s dedication to safe sport and her deep understanding of legal compliance make her an invaluable addition to USA Fencing,” Andrews says. “Her experience and passion align perfectly with our commitment to providing a welcoming environment for all members, whether they’re just discovering fencing or competing at the highest levels.”

As Director of Member Safety & Organizational Compliance, Saxon will focus on policies and practices that keep fencers, coaches, officials and volunteers fully supported. Her arrival at USA Fencing underscores our promise to create a culture of respect, integrity and safety — so that everyone in the fencing community can flourish on and off the strip.
