Training With Olympians Clinic Returns, Offering a Golden Opportunity For Young Foil Fencers
by Bryan Wendell
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — This year, as anticipation builds for the Olympic Games Paris 2024, there’s an exciting pit stop for our Women’s and Men’s Foil Teams: they’re coming to Columbus, Ohio!
Before our athletes showcase their skills on the world's largest sporting stage, they're offering an incredible chance for young fencers to sharpen their own at the "Training With Olympians" clinic during the Summer Nationals.
Imagine learning from some of the nation’s top fencers, less than a month before they compete for Olympic glory. The event, formerly known as the "Fence With Olympians Clinic," has been renamed to better capture the essence of this unique experience.
The clinics, one for Men's Foil on July 4 and one for Women's Foil on July 6, will be led by a veritable who’s who of the country’s best foil fencers: Jackie Dubrovich OLY, Lee Kiefer OLY, Lauren Scruggs, Maia Weintraub, Miles Chamley-Watson OLY, Nick Itkin OLY, Alexander Massialas OLY and Gerek Meinhardt OLY.
The two-hour clinics serve as fundraisers for the foil teams, supporting their journey to the Olympic Games Paris 2024 and beyond. The fee includes personalized instruction, followed by autograph and picture sessions with the athletes.
