Jade Burroughs, NFL Executive and Sports Industry Innovator, Named to the USA Fencing Board of Directors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Jade Burroughs, an accomplished executive in the sports industry and current Vice President and Chief of Staff, Football Operations at the NFL, has been appointed as an independent director of the USA Fencing Board, effective Jan. 1, 2025.

Burroughs’ term will run through Fall 2026, and her appointment follows a thorough selection process by the USA Fencing Nominating Committee and a vote by the USA Fencing Board of Directors.

“I am incredibly excited to join the USA Fencing Board as an Independent Director,” Burroughs says. “As a lifelong sports enthusiast with an understanding of high-performance athletics and the complexities of working within successful sports organizations, I believe I can bring a unique and valuable perspective to the Board. I am eager to learn about the unique challenges and opportunities facing USA Fencing and contribute to the continued growth and success of this dynamic sport.”

Burroughs’ extensive experience spans professional sports, college athletics and sports agency work. At the NFL, she specializes in managing executive operations and leading strategic initiatives across Football Operations, including communication with stakeholders, team management, the Competition Committee and overseeing key projects related to the game. 

Before joining the NFL, Burroughs held leadership roles at Van Wagner Sports & Entertainment, the Big Ten Conference, and with Nike Basketball’s event agency, where she contributed to high-profile projects, including the inaugural World Basketball Festival and LeBron James’ move to Miami. Her strategic expertise has also been instrumental in initiatives like the Big Ten’s expansion to the East Coast and enhancing brand visibility across collegiate sports.

A graduate of Lehigh University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Marketing, Burroughs also brings a personal connection to sports as a youth sports advocate and mentor.
